PRESENT HELP is under the direction of Laura A. Murray, social worker, licensed by New York State and certified by the National Association of Social Workers. As a social worker, she has been employed in the health field in both inpatient and outpatient facilities since 1981. Laura has also had personal experience with coordinating and providing care for elderly family members.

PRESENT HELP is a private social work practice providing a holistic approach to counseling, caregiver support and geriatric care coordination. They offer personalized services to assist individuals to meet their changing needs due to age, illness or disability, and coordinate services with family and community resources, creating a "team approach" to care.

PRESENT HELP provides:

• Counseling to facilitate adjustment to a change in life style, to manage stress, to face issues related to grief, death and dying. Individual, family and group counseling are offered.
  
  
• Caregiver support and geriatric care coordination to arrange services to meet current needs or to plan ahead for the future.

PRESENT HELP can make arrangements for services including:

• Home care such as grocery shopping, meal preparation, bathing, housecleaning, yard work, pet care
• Modifying your home environment
• Transportation
• Entitlements
• Legal advocacy
• Medical care
• Respite care
• Insurance claims
• Home maintenance
• Adult and nursing home placement

Home and office visits are available. Fees are based on an hourly rate comparable to that of other private practice social workers in the area. Some services of PRESENT HELP may be covered by Medicare and/or insurance. PRESENT HELP is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers.
